"My dear Sacha, I've just reread your book about your father. It resonates more with me than Plutarch. I send you my warmest regards. Jean. I'll call you next week."

“My dear Sacha, I was so looking forward to seeing you and talking about your fantastic work. But I feel ashamed in the face of your courage. I was coming down a slope when Soulié sent me up this mountain. I'll let you know as soon as I get back. My friends who are getting involved in the academic world are asking me to be here this week [Cocteau will be elected to the French Academy on March 3rd, to the seat of Jérôme Tharaud]. I'll leave again after that, but not without having seen you. I send you my love. Jean.”
