Johannes Skancke Martens (1900-1968) is the historical translator who introduced the work of Albert Camus to Norway. He translated several of Camus's masterpieces into Norwegian, such as, in 1946, Den fremmede (The Stranger); in 1949, Pesten (The Plague); in 1953, Myten om Sisyfos (The Myth of Sisyphus).
