In preparation for his anthology published by Denoël, Mon propre rôle (My Own Role) , Serge Gainsbourg corrected and approved the proofs of his song Norma Jean Baker, featured on the album Baby Alone in Babylone, written in 1983 for Jane Birkin. In it, the artist recounts the tragic death of Marilyn Monroe, to whom he devoted an enduring admiration.
