Jules Verne supports the French Africa committee.

“Dear Sir, I am going to see Mr. Mayor as soon as possible, and I will discuss with him the subsidy requested by the French Africa Committee and intended to continue the patriotic work of Grandveil (?). If the issue comes before the City Council – and it very likely will – rest assured that I will use my best efforts to support it. At this time, it will be appropriate to know if other municipal councils have subscribed in favor of this work; and I think you could enlighten me on this subject. Please accept, dear Sir, the assurance of my very kind consideration. Jules Verne. »
