Jean-Jacques Champollion-Figeac worked tirelessly for the publication of the Egyptian Grammar and the Egyptian Dictionary of his brother Jean-François Champollion, published posthumously by order of François Guizot, Minister of Education.

Jean-Jacques Champollion-Figeac played a decisive role in his brother's career by supporting his studies, facilitating his intellectual contacts, and disseminating his work. A scholar and librarian, he helped to establish the recognition of research on ancient Egypt within French scholarly circles. After Jean-François Champollion's death, he also participated in the publication and preservation of his scientific legacy.
