Alfred de VIGNY (1797.1863)

Signed autograph letter.

Three pages in-8°. August 2, 1835.

Remarkable letter from Vigny negotiating a general reprint of his work and evoking some of his greatest titles.

“I think that I will find in my works or in my portfolios more considerable pieces to your keepsake than: Leave for the fear which we spoke of this morning and I also have some ideas to communicate to you, sir, the first time that I will see you. Until then, let's not stop anything on this point . The most important matter which (…) prevented me from thinking about everything that concerns this January 1st project . You will have plenty of time to make all the calculations of the treaty with Mr. Buloz, which you will in turn leave for me to examine. I am in no hurry to conclude this general reprint and will perhaps wait until I have added to my works those which I plan to write this year. Believe that no one is less uncertain than me in their projects. I know at what distance from each other these works will be published, the plans of which are fixed in my thoughts and nothing can make me vary. I repeat to you what I told you this morning, the volume of Servitude and Grandeur will be followed by The second consultation of the Black Doctor . A thousand eager compliments to you, sir, and to Mr. Buloz. »
