“Men also want to ignore that the future is unknown, they are afraid of the unknown, because it is clear proof of their cowardice. »
Very beautiful manifesto letter relating to man's place in time.

" Prinner showed me your letter. This sensation, which a hermetic vision of the world is made by an invisible spider's web, which is The precious and sensitive LINK and which is indisputably the only valid and stimulating one. As I understand your message and as in my turn I feel that we are, during these long years where reality flows by with all its procession of habits, which only confirm its path towards the inevitable death of the values that arise from a rationalism without issue [sic] , on the lookout, waiting for this moment [sic] of attachment, thirsty and functional like a "praying manta" the encounter of this event, transposed into a MAN, who like you, isolated island that exists with certainty, but that only chance, and here its enormous sumptuousness of the unexpected, can give it its invigorating meaning.
We feel, without being able to escape the laws of doubt, that there is an anathomy of affinity, as if there were a graph where we can see the nerve centers, which will be those we must meet through life.
The laws that govern these encounters are certainly deliberately ignored by current methods of thought, which only want to be reduced to the presentation of a future earthly paradise. But men also want to ignore that the future is unknown; they are afraid of the unknown, because it is the obvious proof of their cowardice. This is why from criticism, self-criticism, over-criticism, arises the river of justifications, which is still one of the most remarkable signs of petrification, but a kind of "soft petrification," where it is necessary to eliminate fundamental anxieties by compromise, those of life or death, those of the unconscious or chance.
This to express to you my joy that on your sensitive triangle fountain of contemplation my name also appears (Brassaï, Prinner and me) and again to tell you that at this very moment and perhaps even before, your appearance in my life, the rainbow at the other end available, was intended for you, foundation of friendship.
