Margaret THATCHER (1925.2013)
Letter signed (with autograph notes) to Mrs. Judy Adams.
House of Commons letterhead . March 2, 1977.

But as you will doubtless know, it received a second reading, and will now go to Committee Stage. »

The Abortion Bill, introduced by William Benyon in 1977, aimed to reduce the deadline for abortion. The project was ultimately rejected.
Two years later, Margaret Thatcher led the Conservatives to victory and, on May 4, 1979, became the first woman to head the government of a European country.
