“Dear friend, let’s meet at the Coupole around 6 a.m. tomorrow Monday. I will introduce you to a very pretty person in whom I find the head of a female character from the Marquis de Sade. Dazzle her. She's not mine. To you Artaud. »

Co-founder, with René Daumal and Roger Gilbert-Lecomte, of the magazine Le Grand Jeu , André Rolland de Renéville (1903-1962), attracted the attention of the surrealist group through the publication of his essay Rimbaud the Seer .

Condemned for the position he took against Aragon during the “Aragon affair” at the beginning of 1932, he continued his poetic trajectory on the sidelines, remaining a regular correspondent for Antonin Artaud.
