In 1963, a meeting with producer Jacques Canetti led Nicolas Treatt to photograph the leading musicians and performers of the Parisian scene. It was during this period that he forged a friendship with Serge Gainsbourg, with whom he shared a common Russian cultural background.
He then entrusted him with the illustration of his album "Confidential" (1964).
