Splendid surrealist drawing by the Catalan painter featuring two altars with atomic decorations perfectly emblematic of his period of Corpuscular Mysticism .

In the left margin, Dalí adds with conviction:

Long live Gala!

Long live Gala!

Long live Gala!

Long live Gala!

Long live Gala!

Corpuscle and wave of my Misticism!

During this period of atomic mysticism, Dalí drew inspiration from atomic physics, where elementary particles separated by a vacuum maintain their equilibrium, forming a coherent whole on a macroscopic scale. The key work from this period is exhibited at the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation: Leda atómica .

In the Mystical Manifesto , Dalí explains the change that took place in him from the end of the 1940s: " The most subversive things that can happen to an ex-surrealist are two: first, to become a mystic, and second, to know how to draw: these two forms of vigor have just happened to me together and at the same time ."
