A friendly letter from Robert Desnos, sending Paul Éluard a kilo of papers containing his own manuscripts and poetic works. He also congratulates his friend on the publication of Poésie et Vérité.

My dear Paul, Here is a kilo of paperwork for the books:
1st trials of the "Neckless".
2° What remains of the Fantomas manuscript (comment and radio note with Kurt Weill. Full text in Le Petit Journal around November 1, 1933 ).
3° Translation of songs from the Cuban Revolution.
4° Manuscripts of various poems.
5° Draft scenario for a ballet by Darius Milhaud performed once at the Palais de la Femme (exhibition 37)
6. Some jokes and drawing.

The daily newspaper Aujourd'hui , founded in 1940 by Henri Jeanson, welcomed Desnos's writing immediately after his demobilization. He contributed to it until his tragic arrest on February 22, 1944.
