“Dear Madam, Thank you for your letter of the 18th of this month. I am pleased to learn that you may be able to make a trip to Brussels and that you would bring back writings and drawings by Paul Colinet for publication. I regret to inform you that the painting, which was badly damaged, was restored when I gave it to a friend: it no longer belongs to me—neither damaged nor restored—and I will not be able to return it to you. But I hope that the work that replaces it is a better replacement than a bad one. Here, the winter has not been very harsh, but it certainly doesn't compare to the sunny winter you are enjoying in Argentina.”
