"My dear Paul, I hope that by the time this card reaches you, you will have been able to see Georgette [Goldstein, his wife]. I am very worried. But Mabille's presence reassures me and calms me a little. Yesterday, I sent Picasso the promised shovel from de l'Isle (23 bis rue de la Boétie). I hope he will be pleased. Write to me, I am very gloomy. With love, R. Char. Let me know if the shovel has arrived (it takes about four days)."
