« Dear Irene, Your letter gives me great pleasure; I am also very happy to learn that you are working. I, for one, am working enormously; I am writing immense poems (one a day) and obscene ones at that ! The dreams… that you mention, are they always of the same nature? I am very interested in that. What a pity that you refuse to tell us about them! I remember one evening when, despite Jean's and my entreaties, you wouldn't tell us anything ; it was an evening of lobster à l'américaine at the Bertins', if I remember correctly. Forgive me for saying such silly things, but work (and what work!) and being in the countryside are making me senile. I am writing poems like a very old gentleman, except that no old gentleman could write them! Anyway, when I return, which shouldn't be long now (in about two weeks), I will show you all these horrors ; if you don't cover your ears. "Please excuse the stationery. If I had a choice, I would have chosen flowered paper for you, but this ugly checkered paper... I can only decorate it with the silly things I tell you. Write to me; you will give me immense pleasure. If you go to the Dardels', give me news of Nils and especially of Thara! She wrote me a very sweet letter, with very Swedish drawings, very much in Uncle . She tells me that she had written to me once before, but that Nils wanted to correct the mistakes in her letter, and then nothing was left! How sweet! I'm telling you this because you certainly love Thara, as much as I love her. Goodbye, my dear Irene. Tell me a little about Paris, if you have the time. I kiss you. Raymond Radiguet."
