" I, the undersigned, acting on behalf of Mr. ^de la Fayette, my husband, acknowledge having received from Mr. de Montolon the sum of three hundred ninety-five pounds for one year of the annuity he pays us, for one year of the annuity due in July last, which I hereby relinquish. Done this 12th of January, one thousand six hundred and eighty-two. De la Vergne."
