Note intended for the newspaper, announcing the concert that he was going to give on August 26, 1861 in the room known as the “Salon de Conversation” in Baden, at the invitation of the director of the city's casino, Édouard Bénazet, as part of the festival of annual music festival held there – Berlioz conducted works there in 1844, 1853 and from 1856 to 1863.

“ Mr ^H. Berlioz is currently preparing in Baden-West for the big concert on August 26 in which we will hear several of his most important compositions ; among others his symphony of Harold in Italy , and the great Tuba mirum of his Requiem, which have not yet been heard by the Baden public so familiar with most of the other works of Mr. Berlioz.

virtuosos who will be heard in this musical celebration, for which Mr. Bénazet provides Mr. Berlioz with splendid means of performance, are Ms. ^Rosa Kastner-Escudier [the pianist], Ms. ^Monrose [the singer], M ^r Sivori [the violinist], Renard [the singer] , Grodvolle [the violinist]. All the staff of the Grand Duke Chapel [of Baden] will take part with the artists from Baden. »
