“My dear friend, Please excuse my lateness: these Parisian heat waves have not done us any good. However, we have found a small worker's apartment near your place – and it seems we will have the keys tomorrow evening. In your letter of August 13th, you did not tell me what you practically think of my suggestion (sincere and important to my conscience): to put the staging of the “Doll” in the “The Past” section of the catalogue for the planned exhibition . Since the costs of the construction – or constructions – will be borne by the gallery, I will have to let Daniel Cordier know by the end of the month whether the “Doll” will be included in the exhibition or not . I have just written to José Pierre, going into detail (ectachromes – Sonnenstern postcards , Springer gallery, etc.).” Thank you for sending me this letter from my only friend in Katowice (Willi Heyman), whom I had completely lost track of since the death of my first wife.
