Georges MATHIEU (1921.2012)

Autographed letter signed to René Cornaud.

Two large quarto pages on paper bearing his monogram.

[Paris. December 24, 1985] – Autographed envelope.

"Dear René Cornaud, I received your "Homage to Godfrey of Bouillon" some time ago, for which I thank you. What impressed me most about your recent work is the quality of some of your drawings*, which you should have transformed into jewelry. Either by hand or industrially by stamping. I congratulate you on your efforts, your energy, and your courage. I send you my best wishes for better health and a happy new year, for you and your family. Mathieu. *including the very beautiful one enclosed."

At the top of the letter, Mathieu pasted a reproduction of one of the aforementioned drawings, covering his own engraved number.
