^* Eugène Sue's judicial council, appointed on February 17, 1825, will not be lifted until February 25, 1830.

^*** This is the son of the famous comic actor Jean-Joseph Mira, known as Brunet. He was part, with his father, of the administration committee of the Théâtre des Varieties. If we believe Alexandre Dumas, Mira was a youth friend of Eugène Sue.

^**** Charles Dovalle (Montreuil-Belley [Maine-et-Loire], June 23, 1807-November 30, 1829). Arrived in Paris in 1828, Dovalle, while preparing the publication of his first collection of poems, had just made his debut as a journalist in the satirical press by collaborating in particular in Le Figaro and the Trilby . Mira having seen an insult to her address in a few lines of theatrical criticism called dovalle on the ground and had the misfortune to kill him.
