Déjanire in Béziers in 1898 and Parysiatis in 1902. It was through the friendship he maintained with Fernand Castelbon de Beauxhostes (1859-1834) that Saint-Saëns used the Béziers arenas for theatrical and lyrical performances that would turn the town into a "human anthill" in the artist's own words.
