"Dear comrade, I read with extreme pleasure the last texts that you sent me and prepares me to make them the widest place possible in the surr. ASDLR. [Surrealism at the service of the Revolution].

I wanted to write for you for a long time but time has been rare and moreover I remained in the grip of sadness to have attracted an observation that could not be more justified from you about a unfortunate word which I had used. Needless to say, this word has no derogatory or even restrictive sense for me and that I thought I could use it, quite improperly it is true, in this circumstance, as we do when we associate it with the word era or in the word terrain for example. (Neither you nor I are madly in love with the quaternary.)

I apologize for writing to you too in a hurry. But you have planned to come to Paris for Easter and I want to tell you how happy I would be to meet you as well as your wife. Your friend, André Breton.
