“My dear George, Thank you so much for your letter telling me of Mary’s engagement. I hope you are pleased about it and that you will be able to find out all about Peter Whitley. I cannot find out anything but Arthur Penn does remember him when he joined the Grenadines. I hear they have found Freddie’s Coldstream Company Colour on the Dunkirk beach, and I have told the Regiment that you must have it for your own property. I hope this is all right. Please tell Dorothy we hope everything for the best for the engaged couple. I am your very affectionate cousin. Bertie.”
