"Dear André and Alisa, I received your kind letter of August 3rd. Thank you. I am delighted to be participating in the International Surrealist Exhibition. You can certainly count on me. To find a painting of mine from 1940-45, I am writing to Mr. René Dreyfus in Paris to ask if he could lend me a canvas from 1945, a figure measuring 170 x 120 cm. I might find a more recent painting in the Copley collection, or one from my current work. Here is a small drawing, and all my affection for you both. "
