Charming letter from Lam, enriched with a small original drawing in the margin, agreeing to entrust works for the surrealist exhibition EROS organized by Breton at the Daniel Cordier gallery.

“Dear André and Alisa, I received your kind letter of August 3. Thank you. I am happy to participate in the international exhibition of surrealism. You can of course count on me. To find a painting of mine from 1940-45, I am writing to Mr. René Dreyfus in Paris to ask him if he can lend me a painting from 1945, a figure measuring 170 x 120 cm. A more recent painting I may find in Copley's collection, or from my current production. Here a little drawing, and all my affection for you both. »
