Very nice letter from the Fratellini clowns wishing to launch into comic operetta.

“Dear friends, being currently, for several weeks, on a big tour, in Holland and in Germany, where we have a tremendous success , we thought, my brothers and I, before our return to Paris, and according to our last interview , to consult you to find out if it would be possible to put together an operetta where a comic role would be created for our genre. I believe, and I am even certain, that success is guaranteed, because it would be very surprising and even wonderful, to see on stage and in an operetta, the kings of laughter, the Fratellini. I would tell you, gentlemen, that this would not be the first time that we have performed roles because, long before our great popularity, we have practiced this type of work time and again. For a very long time we have been thinking about this, and my goodness, it is to you gentlemen that we are addressing ourselves, because we know that you are the men capable of accomplishing this miracle. So, gentlemen, please be kind enough to let us know your opinion, because there is no time to lose if we want to work hard. »

The three Fratellini brothers were world famous clowns between 1909 and 1940. Paolo formed with his brothers François and Alberto, a legendary clown trio. They toured together for 31 years, all over Europe to impose their comic genius.
