In 1963, Serge Gainsbourg wanted to revolutionize and aestheticize jazz; produce “a little pearl”: “I wanted to write good jazz songs, while retaining two of the themes that I like: love, women (…) Love obsessions are the springs of my desire to to write. »

A month before the recording of his new album Gainsbourg Confidentiel , with guitarist Elek Bacsik and double bassist Michel Gaudry (the musicians who will accompany him for this album), Serge Gainsbourg performs at the Théâtre des Capucines, in Paris, as part of “Song Tuesdays”, every Tuesday in October 1963. Bobby Lapointe opened for his shows.

A live album, simply titled Théâtre Des Capucines , was published in 2009.
