Without place. December 17, 1955 (dating from another hand in lower left corner)
Extraordinary manuscript summarizing Dalí's entire personality in a few lines.
Since my early childhood I have played at wanting to be a geniusand I became one!Dalí 1955.
Dalí responds here to a survey carried out in 1955 among various artists, and affirms his genius in the face of the two questions asked:
1) Has life fulfilled the promises of your childhood?
2) Did you succeed in your work?
We attach the little handwritten note of these two questions.
Note: For better reading, we have Frenchified Dalí's phonetic writing; Here is the original version, faithful to the text: “Since my early childhood, I wanted to be a genius and I became one!»
Splendid and imposing signature of Dali projecting a myriad of ink.
