Magritte is delighted to discover the writings of Paul Colinet.

“Dear Madam, Thank you for your letter of the 18th of this month. I am pleased to learn that it will perhaps be possible for you to take a trip to Brussels and that you will bring writings and drawings by Paul Colinet for publication. I regret to have to tell you that the painting which was very damaged was restored when I gave it to a friend: it no longer belongs to me – damaged or restored – and I will not be able to return it to you. But I hope that the work that replaces it replaces it rather well than badly. The winter here hasn't been very harsh, but it certainly beats the sunny winter you get in Argentina. »
