To André-Ferdinand Hérold. April 18, 1926.
"My dear friend, I would be very happy to be able to talk with you. Would you like Thursday or Friday evening? These past few days have been troubled by the unexpected death of my poor Landrieu [the chemist Philippe Landrieu] , and I apologize for not being able to reply sooner. Please accept my best regards. P. Langevin"
To a Resident General. June 23, 1927. (residual trace of stamp).
"Mr. Resident General, I have just received official confirmation of the high distinction that His Majesty the Bey of Tunis has graciously bestowed upon me at your suggestion, and I wish to express how grateful I am for this mark of esteem. It brings back to me the memory of my all-too-brief stay in Tunis and all the kindness I received there. I hope that circumstances will allow me to express my sympathy and gratitude towards this beautiful country… P. Langevin."
To André-Ferdinand Hérold. June 30, 1932.
“My dear Hérold, Thank you for reminding me of tonight’s vote, which I hadn’t forgotten, as I completely agree on the need to ensure Kahn the best possible election. I have just returned to Paris after a too-short rest and must leave for Brussels tomorrow, so I fear I may be unable to be with you this evening – but I am sending my ballot to rue Jean Dolent. With warmest regards, P. Langevin”
To a rector. December 12, 1937.
"My dear Rector, I was extremely touched by the mark of interest you were kind enough to show me, despite your many worries, by arranging for me to receive medication and sending me instructions on its use. I have felt its benefit and now experience little more than a very great general fatigue, which only rest can cure. I would be very pleased to visit you soon to thank you and chat with you. Please accept my warmest regards. Fr. Langevin"
