“My dear May, I thank you very much for sending me the catalog of the Picasso exhibition, very well done. I will show it this evening to Picasso who will translate the essence of your important preface for me. You must have received the issue of Cahiers d'art. Paris is colorless and agitated by the improbable tone of the entire press towards Germany. Never fail to tell me what interests you about surrealist productions or what you miss. I will always try to send it to you. Send our regards to Mr. Ferrant (I will include one of his photos in the next issue of Cahier d'Art, while waiting for better). With our very affectionate memory, Paul. »

In February 1936, Picasso's first exhibition was held in Madrid, organized by the Catalan group ADLAN (Friends of the New Arts) for which Guillermo de Torre (member of ADLAN) wrote the preface and bibliography.
