During the summer of 1946, Picasso went to an exhibition in Vallauris and discovered, amazed, the work of Georges and Suzanne Ramié, owners of the Madoura pottery workshop. Returning to Vallauris the following year, the artist immersed himself with a devouring passion in the creation of ceramics. He produced around 4,500 works.
