“Dear Sir, I have received your letter and thank you for it.  I am very touched by the tribute you wish to pay me on the occasion of the exhibition in Rijeka (Yugoslavia), by displaying about ten of my drawings. Of course, I completely agree with the principle. Unfortunately, due to my many commitments, I am unable to handle loan arrangements. I would therefore ask you to contact the Galerie Maeght , 13, rue de Téhéran, Paris (8th arrondissement). I will also inform them of your project and ask them to help you realize it. Please accept, dear Sir, the expression of my highest regards. Marc Chagall.”
