"My dearest, I am in a quiet place convalescing where I am enjoying the days and days, and where I am quietly preparing my wedding with Jo Bouillon around the middle of April, but quite simply, without ceremony, alas I will be deprived of my friends because the doctors forbid it, we still need calm, it is true that I am in a village and friends would not find it funny to come.

My darling , write me a note, tell me that you still love me and that you haven't forgotten me. How is your husband? I send you a big kiss, my darling Val, as I love you, your Joséphine. Château de Milandes, Castelnaud Fayrac.
