“My dear André, Excuse my delay in responding to you but I was absent. Pierre Matisse spent a few days with me here in Palma and apologizes to you for not having asked you for the pages of the book which I will be happy to sign for you. He had forgotten it and promised to send it to me by mail. Now let's move on to organizing the exhibition. Your idea of sticking to eroticism, which is an eternal thing, seems excellent to me. 1° It seems very good to me that you are exhibiting “Le Piège”. I believe that this canvas lends itself to obtaining an ectachrome. 2° For the large canvas or objects between 1924 and the war, I can suggest the Tree Trunk which you own and which I consider to be very important and the Door belonging to Coppley which you must know and of which I do not know the address. 3° To choose a recent work you could contact Jacques Dupin (…) Dupin is preparing a large work on me, which means that he has a very complete archive of my works. I will write him a note, although I am convinced that he will be happy to facilitate this work for you. He did not return to Paris, however, until the beginning of September. He will also be able to provide you with the photos you want. I have made preliminary studies for the engraving you request , which I see in lithography. Tell me what the latest deadline is to engrave it. If I couldn't get to Paris before then, I would tell Mourlot to send me the material and arrange to make the original here.
