Rare handwritten card from Jean Moulin to his friend Bellonte informing him that he can do nothing to resolve the situation of a Spanish refugee in the midst of Francoism.

“ I intervened, my dear Bellonte, in favor of your Spanish , but I am afraid that there is nothing to be done…. Here is a new correspondence reaching me from the Ministry of Commerce regarding Madame Bellonte's export requests. I would like to take this opportunity to send you both my most sincere wishes for 1940. Yours truly, Jean Moulin. »

We attach the typewritten draft of Bellonte's response to Jean Moulin, dated January 6, 1940, thanking his friend for his wishes, for his good care regarding his wife's export request. He ends his letter with these words: “ Thank you for what you were willing to do for my Spanish refugee .”
