The Terrible Parents is a play by Cocteau, first performed in November 1938 at the Théâtre des Ambassadeurs. Quickly banned, the play was revived at the Théâtre des Bouffes Parisiens before being suspended again in October 1941 under pressure from the collaborationist press. To preserve the memory of his work, Cocteau made a film adaptation in 1948.

The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by Mrs. Annie Guédras.
