"Mr. de Balzac has not yet received the manuscript entrusted to Mr. Souverain."
An interesting letter concerning Charles Lassailly's manuscript, given to Souverain, which formed part of * Les romans du cœur* , the collaborative work undertaken by Balzac, Léon Gozlan, Théophile Gautier, Alphonse Karr, and Lassailly. Although announced several times—notably at the beginning of Curé de village *—this collection was never published.
