“Dearest Twinka, I hate this period of east wind, which brought Hilda the flu, and Maurice a cheek like a melon. Perhaps it was the east wind that brought you tenants too? I am suffering my personal lot, which is in the form of “custom work”. I am already ten days late, if I finish by the end of the week I will dry my tears , and we will treat ourselves to a round of the cinema! My ambitions stop there, – it is already presumptuous enough. But I cannot conceive of pleasant prospects without involving you, dear Twinka, whom I have not seen for a long time. I kiss you, I beg you not to forget me and… I have forgotten the name of the pink wax flower! Maurice is your very respectful Maurice – who – has – swallowed – a – hot-air balloon. Colette.”
