You have made an admirable portrait of the politician and the diplomat and summarized in a powerful and vivid summary a period of the most interesting and richest in lessons in our almost contemporary history . »

The inauguration of the monument erected in honor of Lamartine in Bergues took place on Sunday September 21, 1913.
