Gaston CHAISSAC (1910.1964)

Signed autograph poem.

One page in quarto on lined paper. Behind the fields at Vit . October 16, 1961.

Missing item in the upper margin, but does not affect the text.

A very beautiful poem of sixteen lines dedicated to Claude Rivière.

A low-level arch-chief

He said, "Here I am."

In the realm of the mages

Where is His Highness?

His sacred apple

Overloaded with hatching

Borrowed from man

The most susceptible to frostbite

And the bastard

The throat followed suit

In the heart of Picardy

Entirely planted with roses

To lose one's bearings

Above the caricatures

Born in soft soil

Accelerating the pace.

Gaston Chaissac

Behind the fields, there was life.
