Family of circus artists of Italian origin, including three Fratellini brothers who were world famous clowns between 1909 and 1940.

Paolo formed with his brothers François and Alberto, a legendary clown trio. They toured together for 31 years, all over Europe to impose their comedic genius.

Formerly called Cirque Napoléon , the Cirque d'Hiver was built in 1852 by architect Jacques Hittorff.

In 1923, Gaston Desprez took charge and the Fratellini became artistic directors of the Cirque. Eleven later, in 1934, it was the four Bouglione brothers who took over the Cirque d'Hiver, paid cash in gold coins. The name of Bouglione becomes inseparable from this mythical place.
