This is the only known portrait of Delacroix created by Félix Nadar!

We know that the painter had demanded, from the photographer, the destruction of this photo representing him. Delacroix, suffering at the time of the photograph, saw it as “a sad effigy”.

Thanks be given to the photographer for having preserved this print which today constitutes the most famous photograph of the romantic painter.

Perfect condition, except for slight ink bleeds on the reverse.
