"My dearest Twinka, I just learned that you have such a bad and painful cold! My delicate nature adapts itself immediately to circumstances, and I hasten to write to you as soon as you speak. I was at the dentist, and I was hiding it all the more jealously because I had lost a porcelain chip embedded in an incisor! Not only lost, but swallowed!! I've been fixed since last night, but I wish you were cured. Baurice, the perfect husband, arranged to have a dental job while I was at it."

Dear Twinka, take care of yourself, use all the warmth of your kiss for yourself alone. I still love you, I'm waiting for spring, and Pauline just told me that there are more planes than there will be for eight days of heating… I kiss you with all my heart, and Baurice is at your feet. Your Colette.
