“It is true that I am romantic. »

“Dear Hélène, It seems that I returned on the train that brought you both back! But I didn't know, because I was sick with bronchitis picked up on a conference tour (29 cities in two months). Bronchitis which had caused bad edema of the lungs… Fi! It was Maurice Goudeket who saw you, and who saw Philippe as a very lively and excellent figure.

How kind of you to send me an affectionate note from there!  The history of Bailly and Intràn – and I know it quite superficially – seems to me to resemble chronicles of the Renaissance, full of poisonings. It is true that I am romantic. But still! I know that our friend Bailly is full of projects and energy.

If you have the time, the desire, the kindness to give me five minutes (I don't leave until the 25th and I can't go out freely yet) you will be one of Hélène's sweethearts. I love and kiss you both and I am still with all my heart your old friend Colette. »
