Extraordinary bust portrait of General de Gaulle, in military uniform, produced in London by Fayer.

Document enriched with a beautiful dedication from the General to Louis Joxe:

“To Louis Joxe, kind regards. 2/2/45. C. de Gaulle.”

The photograph is also signed by the photographer Fayer on the lower left margin of the photo.

Dismissed from the Vichy government in 1940, Louis Joxe (1901.1991) worked within the Resistance. General de Gaulle appointed him, in 1943, Secretary General of the French Committee of National Liberation, then in 1946, Secretary General of the Provisional Government of the French Republic. Minister for nearly ten years under the presidency of General de Gaulle, he was the main negotiator of the Evian Accords as Minister of State for Algerian Affairs.
