“Dear Sir, My friend Auguste Malassis has relieved me of the anxieties caused by one of those bankers you know, by paying everything, even the expenses. Therefore, the prize for the last two pieces (the last for a while) will belong to Mr. Malassis: *Painters as Philosophers* and * Literary Dandyism *. *Painters* is finished; I will reread it and give it to you on the 15th. As for * Dandyism* , although it is still very confused, I hope to deliver it to you before the 25th. It goes without saying that Mr. Malassis is as eager as I was myself before my deliverance. If he delivers this letter to you personally, you will have the opportunity to meet a perfectly amiable man, and, what is even rarer, a bookseller who can read. – And Leconte de Lisle? – I am enclosing a copy of my pamphlet for you with this letter. You will find a few unpublished pages at the end. Yours sincerely.” Ch. Baudelaire.
