“Dear Sir, My friend Auguste Malassis freed me from the anxieties caused by one of the bankers you know, by paying everything, even the costs. It is therefore to Mr. Malassis that the price of the last two pieces (the last for some time) will belong: Philosophical Painters and Literary Dandyism . The Painters are done; I will reread them and give them to you on the 15th. As for Dandyism , although it is still very confusing, I hope to give it to you before the 25th. It goes without saying that Mr. Malassis is in as much of a hurry as I was. -even before my deliverance. If he gives you this letter yourself, you will have the opportunity to meet a perfectly amiable man, and, what is even rarer, a bookseller who knows how to read. And Leconte de Lisle? – I enclose with this letter a copy of my brochure for you. You will find at the end some new pages. Yours truly. Ch. Baudelaire.”
