Magnificent costume study by Bernard Buffet, titled at the top “ Les Sagoins- La Gousse” and annotated in the margin “white shirt and tie; flat shoes”, for Marcel Aymé’s operetta piece, “Patron”.
“Patron”, an operetta by Marcel Aymé, was created at the Sarah Bernhardt theater on September 10, 1959, with Zizi Jeanmaire in the lead role. The direction and choreography were entrusted to Roland Petit (husband of Zizi Jeanmaire), the music to Guy Béart, and the sets and costumes to Bernard Buffet.
Provenance: Former Roland Petit and Zizi Jeanmaire collection, Paris.
