In this water that falls and is like lava

Bubbling incessantly in the depths of the Gave

…..

So on the plateau strewn with precious stones

I saw the gentian and the rose in bloom

A thousand mountain plants which towards this pure ray

They turned, shaking their azure bells!

And I thought of you for a long time on this peak

You were the rainbow, and I was the abyss!
